Our Journey
Its Unique Families was created from lived experience and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by families of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Like many families, we saw first-hand how isolation, limited support, and financial pressures can affect both parents and young people. Too often, families were navigating complex systems alone and missing out on opportunities that others take for granted.
What began as a small, community-led response grew into a dedicated organisation focused on inclusion, empowerment, and connection. By listening to families and responding to real needs, we developed inclusive events, learning opportunities, and supportive spaces where families could feel safe, valued, and understood.
Today, Its Unique Families continues to grow alongside the community it serves. Our journey is driven by the belief that every family deserves access to opportunity, dignity, and belonging — and we remain committed to breaking cycles of isolation and inequality so SEN families can thrive.

We Educate
