Social Learning Experiences
At Its Unique Families, our Social Learning Experiences are designed to provide meaningful, inclusive opportunities where children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) can learn, grow, and build confidence in real-life social settings. We understand that many SEN families face barriers to participation, including isolation, lack of accessible activities, and limited supportive environments. Our programmes are created to remove those barriers. Through carefully planned group outings, creative workshops, life skills sessions, and team-based activities, we promote communication, independence, and positive peer interaction. These experiences are not only educational but empowering — helping young people develop practical skills, emotional resilience, and a sense of belonging. At the same time, parents and carers benefit from shared learning, peer support, and the reassurance of being part of an understanding community. Our approach is holistic and family-centred. We create safe, welcoming spaces where differences are celebrated, strengths are nurtured, and every family feels valued. By combining social interaction with structured learning, we help families build confidence, strengthen relationships, and access opportunities that contribute to long-term wellbeing and inclusion.
Through our Social Learning Experiences, we are not just delivering activities. We are building community, independence, and brighter futures for SEN families.

Wellbeing Support Causes
At Its Unique Families, our Parenting Wellbeing Support Group is designed to strengthen the emotional wellbeing of parents and caregivers of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). We recognise that caring for a child with additional needs can bring unique pressures, including stress, isolation, financial strain, and navigating complex systems. Our wellbeing support provides a safe, confidential space where parents can share experiences, access guidance, and build resilience.
Through facilitated discussions, peer connection, and practical wellbeing strategies, we help parents feel heard, supported, and empowered. By prioritising parental wellbeing, we strengthen the whole family unit because when parents feel supported, children thrive.

Pre-Diagnosis Support Causes
At Its Unique Families, we understand that the period before, during, and shortly after a diagnosis can feel overwhelming and uncertain for families of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Many parents experience confusion, anxiety, long waiting times, and a lack of clear guidance. Our Pre-Diagnosis Support provides early intervention, reassurance, and practical direction during this critical stage. We create a safe and understanding environment where families can ask questions, express concerns, and receive accurate information about pathways to assessment, education support, and available services. By offering early guidance and emotional reassurance, we help families feel less alone and more empowered as they navigate complex systems.
Our goal is to reduce stress, build parental confidence, and ensure children receive the right support as early as possible because early understanding leads to stronger outcomes.

Sign-Posting Causes
At Its Unique Families, we recognise that no single organisation can meet every need of families raising children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). That is why sign-posting is a vital part of our support model. We actively collaborate with trusted local authorities, charities, healthcare providers, education specialists, and community organisations to ensure families can access the right help at the right time. Families often come to us feeling overwhelmed by complex systems, long waiting lists, and unclear pathways. Through structured sign-posting, we simplify this journey, providing clear direction, relevant contacts, and guided referrals tailored to each family’s circumstances. Our approach ensures that families are not passed around but supported with clarity and continuity.
By bridging gaps between services, we strengthen outcomes for children and reduce stress for parents — ensuring holistic, wraparound support beyond our immediate provision.
