MOTHERS DAY EVENT
The Its Unique Families Mother’s Wellbeing Event was a heart-centred community celebration created especially for families of children with special educational needs (SEN). Hosted at Roundwood Community Centre, 49 Longstone Avenue, London NW10 3UN, this special gathering brought families together for a day focused on relaxation, connection and joy. Designed as both a wellbeing experience and community fun day, the event provided a safe, inclusive space where parents, carers and children could feel supported and valued. With free entry and a dedicated kids’ zone, families were able to attend without barriers and fully enjoy the atmosphere.
What the Event Was About
At its core, the event centred on celebrating mothers and carers while recognising the strength and resilience within SEND families. It offered an opportunity for parents to pause, recharge and prioritise self-care — something that is often overlooked in caregiving roles.
The day featured:
- Special pampering packages, including heated therapies, body massage, and nail treatments
- A lively kids’ zone to keep children engaged and entertained
- Live music, creating a vibrant and uplifting atmosphere
- Sweet treats such as candyfloss, snow cones, cakes and other desserts
- Food and drinks available throughout the afternoon
- Beyond the activities, the event created space for peer connection and shared understanding. Families were able to network, exchange experiences and build supportive relationships within the community.
- A Day Filled with Joy
The atmosphere was warm, welcoming and full of laughter. Children enjoyed treats and entertainment, while mothers and carers embraced moments of relaxation and celebration. Music, conversation and smiles filled the venue, making it more than just an event, it became a shared experience of togetherness. Everyone had fun participating, socialising and enjoying the range of activities on offer. The combination of wellbeing services, family entertainment and community spirit ensured that every attendee left feeling uplifted, appreciated and connected.
This event reflected the mission of Its Unique Families: to empower, support and celebrate families navigating the SEND journey while ensuring no one feels alone.
