Parent & Carer Wellbeing Workshops

Parent & Carer Wellbeing Workshops
The Its Unique Families Parent & Carer Wellbeing Workshops at Manor School were created to provide a structured, supportive space for families navigating the SEND journey. Funded thanks to National Lottery players through the Community Fund, this programme was designed to prioritise the emotional, mental and physical wellbeing of parents and carers, recognising that when caregivers are supported, whole families thrive.
What the Workshops Were About
These monthly sessions focused on practical wellbeing strategies, peer connection and personal development. Each workshop explored a specific theme, ensuring families gained tangible tools they could apply in everyday life.
The programme included:
Hobbies & Mental Wellbeing – Exploring how creative and recreational interests reduce stress and improve resilience.
Self-Discovery & Lifelong Interests – Encouraging parents to reconnect with their identity beyond caregiving roles.
Art Therapy & Emotional Health – Using creativity as a safe method of emotional expression and regulation.
Mood Board Creation – Visual goal-setting to promote hope, clarity and direction.
You Matter Too” – Reinforcing self-worth, boundaries and self-care for carers.
Physically Fit – Highlighting the link between movement, physical health and mental wellbeing.
Beyond the themes, the workshops also functioned as a peer-to-peer monthly support group, offering a safe and non-judgmental environment where experiences could be shared openly.
